Katy Perry E.T Makeup

So by now you all have probably seen Katy Perry's E.T music video with Kanye West. Her makeup looked so amazing I had to try it out for myself! I liked all three makeup looks but the fawn one caught my eye. It somehow reminded me of a African or Aboriginal tribes. The patterns on the face and especially the eye makeup. I decided to give it a go because I knew I could not replicate the other looks because I don't have the type of makeup in my kit to try them out yet. Wait til I build up my collection and then I'll make another Katy Perry E.T tutorial hehehe This is what I got after 4 hours of filming the tutorial for you all:

I'm not too happy about the way it turned out because I felt like I could have done better or maybe that's just the perfectionist in me haha I couldn't be bothered re-doing the makeup so I edited my tutorial and it's currently being uploaded on to YouTube as I'm writing this right now :P

Actually scratch  that last sentence. I wrote this around 2am in the morning and realised 2 hours later the video did not work so I couldn't upload it on to YouTube. So this entire day which is the 15th of December 2011 right now I've been trying to edit the video and trying to make it work but it just won't co-operate. It's been driving me insane. I don't understand why this keeps happening with some of my videos. Same thing happened to my halloween tutorials which is why I had to print screen the actual live video and use the pictures as tutorials instead. To see what I mean just click on my video below:

Halloween: Ventriloquist Dummy

You will find that the new tutorial for the Katy Perry E.T Makeup will be published in the same form as my Halloween Makeup Video above. I'm so upset that the video isn't working. I stayed up til 5am filming it aswell because I couldn't sleep. Sigh! Big mistake!!! Anyways I'm currently re-editing the whole E.T Tutorial for you all so the video will be up by the morning (fingers crossed!!) haha Just keep checking this blog for it tomorrow :)

You will find the video at the bottom of this blog. My friends know how much dedication I put into my videos because like I told them I always spend about 4 hours or less making the video, another 4 hours editing the video and sometimes 5 hours or less uploading it on to YouTube. I'm on ADSL +2 aswell but it still takes up my time. I've been staying up from 2.30am in the mornings uploading my videos aswell because I'm capped at the moment and the net is way faster off-peak (2.30am - 8.30am) HAHAHA oh god too much dedication!! Which is why I love it when people take the time to comment and rate my YouTube videos and subscribe. So subscribe to me if you want to support me. I appreciate it ALOT. More than you know :)

Anyways back to the makeup. I think I should have made the brows more straight and darker. You reckon? I needed a nice dark plum/brown lipstick to go with the look aswell but I didn't have any so I settled with a peachy lip colour instead. A darker lip colour would have persuaded me more.

I would photoshop the lip colour on to my lips but I DON'T HAVE PHOTOSHOP and I don't know how to use it. Honest to god! LOL I had it back when I was 15 years old. Deleted it after 2 weeks because the program frustrated me! I wanted my photos to look flawless hahahaa damn photoshop! Truth is no one looks like that in real life but it just looks good when your photos are edited. I'm actually one of the many girls who are proud to have unedited photos because if it looks good now what will it look like edited hehehe Not saying photoshop is overated but sometimes I'd like to see some girls with unedited photos of themselves. It makes me feel like those tiny imperfections don't matter to them you know what I mean? :)

Holiday Makeup - Soft Blue Eye Makeup

Holiday Makeup! Soft Blues!
I guess everyone is on holidays at the moment. Not too long til Christmas as well! I still haven't gone out to do my Christmas shopping! I'll do it last minute hahah! Anyways I've been loving the colour blue these days so decided to use my 1st edition 120 palette to create this look below:

I only used 3 shades of blue to achieve this look but I wouldn't have made it without the use of a good eye primer (urban decay primer potion) which is what you'll need especially when your using the 120/88/168 palettes because it really makes the colours pop and helps with blending!

Anyways I bought my palette off eBay for $9.87 (includes free shipping) here but you can purchase the same EXACT palette from Sedona Lace, Coastal Scents and BH Cosmetics. You just gotta pay more!! I try to tell everyone that they are all the same so you don't waste your money paying an extra $20-30 for something you can buy off eBay. They all have the same pigmentation, made from the same manufacturer BUT the only difference is that they slap on their own brands on the palette.

Anyways one of the girls on YouTube asked me to do a tutorial with the blue colours from the palette so I came up with this look. I think it'll look gorgeous on all skin tones. I cannot stress enough about good eye primers though!!! Make sure you use a good one. Don't use E.L.F or Hard Candy eye primers because they are not good. Go for Urban Decay, Two Faced, MAC Paint Pots, Medusa or Lime Crime even. They are good in the sense that they are sticky! Helps keep the eyeshadows on the lid without it creasing. That is what you want.

I'm sure you all want to know what products I used on my face so here it is in full detail:

- FACE -
Hard Candy Sheer Envy face primer
*
Mehron Celebre HD Pro Cream Foundation - Eurasia Fair

(lightly patted this on to my dark circles to hide it)
*
Revlon PhotoReady Medium/Deep Powder
(used my E.L.F Stipple brush to set the foundation in)
*
Maybelline Mineral Powder Bronzer - Sunkissed
(brushed this all over my face and neck with my Royal & Langnickel powder brush to even out my skin tone because we don't want our faces to look lighter than our bodies lol)
*
Guerlain Terracotta Tan Booster Bronzer - 01 Light
(used as a contour on my cheeks, temples of my face and chin with my Gloss Professional angled blush brush)
*
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Naked
(used this shade to contour my nose along my natural lines with my Urban Decay Good Karma brush)
*
Inglot AMC Cream Blush - 82
(used my Royal & Langnickel Blush brush to apply this colour on to my cheeks on top of the contour)
*
Astor 3 Tone Blush - 003 purple

*
1st Edition 120 Palette - light blue

(using the other side of my Royal & Langnickel sponge applicator I take that shade and apply it on to the crease blending it out at the same time)

(using my E.L.F crease brush I take the blue and apply this to the outer corner of my eyes blending it into the crease area + take your blending brush and blend upwards towards the brow slightly)

(Taking my Vital Radiance Eye shadow brush I apply this shade to my brows to highlight it)

Quick Urban Decay Eye Makeup

Ok so I know many of you don't have this palette yet but for those that do you can try out this look. I think it suits just about anyone! All you need is Buck, Toasted and Creep from the Naked palette. You will also need whatever eyeshadow you like to use as a highlight. I personally would not use Virgin or Naked as a highlight on myself though because they don't suit as a highlight colour on me. I want the Naked Palette 2 though! That new palette has an eyeshadow in there I'd use as a highlight. Anyways keep reading if your interested in achieving this look.

You can purchase the Naked palette from www.beautybay.com OR www.hqhair.com (this site offers free international shipping). Both are from the UK. Standard delivery time from there to Sydney is around 3 weeks to abit over a month. So if you can wait then definately check out those websites. If you can't you can buy the palette from here (Australians only!) but I would not recommend it because it's too pricey! They re-stock their palettes every now and then so if they are out of stock just give them an email and ask them when their new stock is coming in :)

So I was initially going to just post the photos up one by one and instruct you on how to create this look then I got lazy so I'm gonna post the YouTube video for it in here instead haha I put the photos together in a 2 minute video for you all. Enjoy :)

I took Bare from my Stila in the light palette to use as a highlight for my brows.
You will need buck or a warm matte brown.

You will also need Toasted and Creep.
