FOTD MAKEUP - Black Everything

Today I felt like trying out my Mehron black lipstick so I wore it to work. It's such a lovely bold colour. I was working in the shoe store today so not as a makeup artist. The look would have suited me more if I was working as a makeup artist hahaha but I don't care. Makeup is about being creative and trying new things and that's who I am. Some people liked it and some didn't. My personal view? LOVEDIT!!! :D

I paired it up with my GEO Berry Holic Grey circle lens because it made the whole look stand out more because I just think my brown eyes with the look is plain and boring. Anyway check out the list below to see what products I used and where to buy them... xX MWA!

URBAN DECAY NAKED 2 PALETTE TUTORIAL

EASY EYE MAKEUP TUTORIAL!!!

Ever wanted a Naked 1 OR 2 palette but don't know where to get it from? Well I have two websites that I highly recommend to you all. Both are based in the UK and shipping normally takes around 2-4 weeks depending on what country you are from and sometimes the shipping method you choose.

2. www.beautybay.com

I've got more makeup tutorials, hauls and other stuff on my YouTube channel aswell if your interested! Please subscribe to show me your love and support :)

http://www.youtube.com/user/melindaINT?feature=guide

LET'S START!

***Use the picture below as a guide if you want and if you want to enlarge the pictures just click on them***

First you want to prime your eyes so that the colour is more intense and longer lasting! It also prevents oily eyelids and creasing :)

*Apply the primer on the eyelid, inner corner of the eye, bottom lashline and a tiny on the browbone.

The eyeshadow primer I love and use everytime is Lime Crime's eyeshadow helper. ONLY $16.99! Shipping isn't expensive aswell. It's worth it. I cannot stress just how good it is. I love it more than Urban Decay primer potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Buy it from my affiliate link: http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=1199

Next take a flat eyeshadow brush and YDK from the Naked 2 palette. This colour is bursting with glitter that shouts big eyes! Gives you that "I'm ready for anything" sort of look :P
*Apply it all over the eyelid up to the crease. Pat this eyeshadow on to avoid fallout! Apply the eyeshadow to the inner corner and half way along the bottom lashline aswell.

Next take a crease brush and the colour Tease. There are three matte shades in the palette and this colour is one out of the three.

*Apply this to the outer corner of the eye creating a C shape. Bring it lightly into the crease to the inner corner of the eyes to create a soft shadow. Then apply the same shade to the rest of the bottom lashline making sure to blend the colour with YDK.

*Take a blending brush and apply the shade Foxy to the brow bone to highlight the eyebrows.

*Using the same brush take a tiny amount of blackout. When I say tiny I mean don't dunk the brush in the palette. Just tap the brush lightly on the shade and then apply it only to the outer corner of the eyes and blend the eyeshadows together.

Your pretty much done! We only used 4 colours to create this beautiful look! Easy :)
So just go ahead and add in the eyeliner, mascara and false eyelashes if you want.

The particular eyeliner design I used for this look is number 11 on the picture and for eyelashes I used Red Cherry 138.

Full Face Makeup Routine - Products

Highly Requested!!

Alot of girls are curious about what foundation I use all the time, why my skin looks so clear and how did I get that nice tan. I'll answer all three questions in this blog here and then I'll move on to what products I like to use the most of my face on a daily basis when I'm going out. Scroll down to the end if you are not interested in reading the answer and questions below.

1. What Foundation do you normally use?
My holy grail foundation at the moment is my Mehron Celebre Pro HD cream foundation. It is the best foundation I've ever had. I have oily/combination skin and this works so well on me. I think it suits people with normal to dry skin aswell. My skin doesn't break out with this foundation and I think the Eurasia fair is the perfect shade for me. It has medium to full coverage. It can give you a dewy finish but I apply my powder on top to set it in and mattify it.

I purchased mine from www.camerareadycosmetics.com a while back ago for just $10. Super cheap! Normally my foundations range from $15-60 so I was surprised about the quality of this foundation and how much they packed into the tub. Mine has lasted me over 4 months now and I use it daily when I go out or when I make my makeup tutorials for the girls for Youtube. Amazing right?! :)

I apply the foundation on with my alcone sponge. I haven't tried using brush applications yet but I love the way the foundation looks with the sponge so I never try. The alcone sponge is pretty good. It doesn't soak up the product like other sponges do and they are easy to clean and reusuable. Only $5 at the same website aswell. I purchased them both at the same time.

2. How do you get your skin to look so clear?
Well if you have been watching my videos you would know that I went on roaccutane for 8 months in 2011 from February - September. It really helped! Worked miracles for me. I had those really bad, deep red pimples that would just sit there in my skin for weeks. I hated them. I felt embarrassed. I couldn't control them using products so I needed some professional help. Going to the dermatologist was a smart move. Alot of the times I wished I went back earlier instead of wasting my money on products that either helped me (for a temporary time only) or broke me out even more.

I did see a dermatologist back when I was 18 or 19. I was put on roaccutane. I was having all these really bad side effects so I stopped taking them. I also noticed my pimples were cleared so I thought it would be ok to stop taking it but little did I know. They came back a few months later.

The steps I took...
To visit a dermatologist you need a referral from your local doctor. Then you need to ring up the dermatologist and book an appointment with them. The first appointment will normally range from $150-200 but here in Australia you can claim a rebate (half or a quarter of your money back!) and I think I recieved $70 back from Medicare. In the first appointment Dr Yip just had to make sure I wasn't allergic to any ingredients in the drug, if I was pregnant, how much I weighed and then prescribed me with roaccutane along with contraception pills because I told her that I was sexually active (yes I said it! I do have a bf and we have been together for 5 years now going on to 6 lol). You CANNOT become pregnant while you are on this. It can kill or damage the baby!

After 3 months I had to go back to the dermatologist to do a checkup. Dr Yip had to make sure everything was ok and that my body was handling the drugs fine. I mean I had minor side effects this time round so I'm lucky. Sore muscle, super dry and cracked lips, dry body and face, bleeding and dry nose (it was a pain to breath because my nose was sore) and the good thing about taking roaccutane was my hair never got oily too quickly.Every 4-5 days it would get oily and I'd wash it. If I go out and I'm feeling all dirty I'd wash it regardless oily or not though lol The second appointment was $100 and I got $40 back from rebate.

Anyways don't wanna bore you all to death with this stuff. If you really are interested in my skin. Please watch the video below. I get into more detail there :)

3. What tanner do you use on your skin?
I don't girls! lol I get this question the most. Funny thing is I'm not even fond of my skin colour. I think I'm too dark. I wish I was slightly lighter. I got my first sun burn last year! OMG! The thing is I never, ever get burnt! EVER! lol I always tan which explains why my skin is this colour. The tan is permanent aswell. It fades a little during Winter though. Should have seen the photos from my hubby's brother's wedding. I was so brown!! His parents were like why is she so dark? What happened? I got a bad tan! That's what happened lol I went to the beach with my family a week before the wedding and silly me forgot to wear sunscreen and I got burnt on my shoulders and upper back. Worst feeling ever! I didn't even know it was a sun burn because like I said I've never had one in my life. This happened sometime last year round Sept I think so yeah lol I kept googling up sun burn and all these things popped up. I tried to match their description with mine and then realised I did have a burn. lol ahhhhhhh worst experience ever! Skin peeling. Burning. Itching.

Katy Perry E.T Makeup

So by now you all have probably seen Katy Perry's E.T music video with Kanye West. Her makeup looked so amazing I had to try it out for myself! I liked all three makeup looks but the fawn one caught my eye. It somehow reminded me of a African or Aboriginal tribes. The patterns on the face and especially the eye makeup. I decided to give it a go because I knew I could not replicate the other looks because I don't have the type of makeup in my kit to try them out yet. Wait til I build up my collection and then I'll make another Katy Perry E.T tutorial hehehe This is what I got after 4 hours of filming the tutorial for you all:

I'm not too happy about the way it turned out because I felt like I could have done better or maybe that's just the perfectionist in me haha I couldn't be bothered re-doing the makeup so I edited my tutorial and it's currently being uploaded on to YouTube as I'm writing this right now :P

Actually scratch  that last sentence. I wrote this around 2am in the morning and realised 2 hours later the video did not work so I couldn't upload it on to YouTube. So this entire day which is the 15th of December 2011 right now I've been trying to edit the video and trying to make it work but it just won't co-operate. It's been driving me insane. I don't understand why this keeps happening with some of my videos. Same thing happened to my halloween tutorials which is why I had to print screen the actual live video and use the pictures as tutorials instead. To see what I mean just click on my video below:

Halloween: Ventriloquist Dummy

You will find that the new tutorial for the Katy Perry E.T Makeup will be published in the same form as my Halloween Makeup Video above. I'm so upset that the video isn't working. I stayed up til 5am filming it aswell because I couldn't sleep. Sigh! Big mistake!!! Anyways I'm currently re-editing the whole E.T Tutorial for you all so the video will be up by the morning (fingers crossed!!) haha Just keep checking this blog for it tomorrow :)

You will find the video at the bottom of this blog. My friends know how much dedication I put into my videos because like I told them I always spend about 4 hours or less making the video, another 4 hours editing the video and sometimes 5 hours or less uploading it on to YouTube. I'm on ADSL +2 aswell but it still takes up my time. I've been staying up from 2.30am in the mornings uploading my videos aswell because I'm capped at the moment and the net is way faster off-peak (2.30am - 8.30am) HAHAHA oh god too much dedication!! Which is why I love it when people take the time to comment and rate my YouTube videos and subscribe. So subscribe to me if you want to support me. I appreciate it ALOT. More than you know :)

Anyways back to the makeup. I think I should have made the brows more straight and darker. You reckon? I needed a nice dark plum/brown lipstick to go with the look aswell but I didn't have any so I settled with a peachy lip colour instead. A darker lip colour would have persuaded me more.

I would photoshop the lip colour on to my lips but I DON'T HAVE PHOTOSHOP and I don't know how to use it. Honest to god! LOL I had it back when I was 15 years old. Deleted it after 2 weeks because the program frustrated me! I wanted my photos to look flawless hahahaa damn photoshop! Truth is no one looks like that in real life but it just looks good when your photos are edited. I'm actually one of the many girls who are proud to have unedited photos because if it looks good now what will it look like edited hehehe Not saying photoshop is overated but sometimes I'd like to see some girls with unedited photos of themselves. It makes me feel like those tiny imperfections don't matter to them you know what I mean? :)
