Highly Requested!!
Alot of girls are curious about what foundation I use all the time, why my skin looks so clear and how did I get that nice tan. I'll answer all three questions in this blog here and then I'll move on to what products I like to use the most of my face on a daily basis when I'm going out. Scroll down to the end if you are not interested in reading the answer and questions below.
1. What Foundation do you normally use?
My holy grail foundation at the moment is my Mehron Celebre Pro HD cream foundation. It is the best foundation I've ever had. I have oily/combination skin and this works so well on me. I think it suits people with normal to dry skin aswell. My skin doesn't break out with this foundation and I think the Eurasia fair is the perfect shade for me. It has medium to full coverage. It can give you a dewy finish but I apply my powder on top to set it in and mattify it.
I purchased mine from www.camerareadycosmetics.com a while back ago for just $10. Super cheap! Normally my foundations range from $15-60 so I was surprised about the quality of this foundation and how much they packed into the tub. Mine has lasted me over 4 months now and I use it daily when I go out or when I make my makeup tutorials for the girls for Youtube. Amazing right?! :)
I apply the foundation on with my alcone sponge. I haven't tried using brush applications yet but I love the way the foundation looks with the sponge so I never try. The alcone sponge is pretty good. It doesn't soak up the product like other sponges do and they are easy to clean and reusuable. Only $5 at the same website aswell. I purchased them both at the same time.
2. How do you get your skin to look so clear?
Well if you have been watching my videos you would know that I went on roaccutane for 8 months in 2011 from February - September. It really helped! Worked miracles for me. I had those really bad, deep red pimples that would just sit there in my skin for weeks. I hated them. I felt embarrassed. I couldn't control them using products so I needed some professional help. Going to the dermatologist was a smart move. Alot of the times I wished I went back earlier instead of wasting my money on products that either helped me (for a temporary time only) or broke me out even more.
I did see a dermatologist back when I was 18 or 19. I was put on roaccutane. I was having all these really bad side effects so I stopped taking them. I also noticed my pimples were cleared so I thought it would be ok to stop taking it but little did I know. They came back a few months later.
The steps I took...
To visit a dermatologist you need a referral from your local doctor. Then you need to ring up the dermatologist and book an appointment with them. The first appointment will normally range from $150-200 but here in Australia you can claim a rebate (half or a quarter of your money back!) and I think I recieved $70 back from Medicare. In the first appointment Dr Yip just had to make sure I wasn't allergic to any ingredients in the drug, if I was pregnant, how much I weighed and then prescribed me with roaccutane along with contraception pills because I told her that I was sexually active (yes I said it! I do have a bf and we have been together for 5 years now going on to 6 lol). You CANNOT become pregnant while you are on this. It can kill or damage the baby!
After 3 months I had to go back to the dermatologist to do a checkup. Dr Yip had to make sure everything was ok and that my body was handling the drugs fine. I mean I had minor side effects this time round so I'm lucky. Sore muscle, super dry and cracked lips, dry body and face, bleeding and dry nose (it was a pain to breath because my nose was sore) and the good thing about taking roaccutane was my hair never got oily too quickly.Every 4-5 days it would get oily and I'd wash it. If I go out and I'm feeling all dirty I'd wash it regardless oily or not though lol The second appointment was $100 and I got $40 back from rebate.
Anyways don't wanna bore you all to death with this stuff. If you really are interested in my skin. Please watch the video below. I get into more detail there :)
3. What tanner do you use on your skin?
I don't girls! lol I get this question the most. Funny thing is I'm not even fond of my skin colour. I think I'm too dark. I wish I was slightly lighter. I got my first sun burn last year! OMG! The thing is I never, ever get burnt! EVER! lol I always tan which explains why my skin is this colour. The tan is permanent aswell. It fades a little during Winter though. Should have seen the photos from my hubby's brother's wedding. I was so brown!! His parents were like why is she so dark? What happened? I got a bad tan! That's what happened lol I went to the beach with my family a week before the wedding and silly me forgot to wear sunscreen and I got burnt on my shoulders and upper back. Worst feeling ever! I didn't even know it was a sun burn because like I said I've never had one in my life. This happened sometime last year round Sept I think so yeah lol I kept googling up sun burn and all these things popped up. I tried to match their description with mine and then realised I did have a burn. lol ahhhhhhh worst experience ever! Skin peeling. Burning. Itching.
